Mr. Tinashe Mashoko
Tinashe is the Managing Director of AAC and the Head of Actuarial Services at BDO. He has over 27 years’ experience in the Insurance, Employee Benefits and Investment Banking sectors. He qualified as an Actuary in 1999 and as a CFA Charterholder in 2001. Tinashe has previously been the Senior Life Actuary at Old Mutual, based in London, and then Chief Risk Officer responsible for Risk Management, Treasury, Capital, Compliance and Forensics across South Africa, Rest of Africa, Asia and Latin American operations.
Tinashe was previously a Director at PwC where he was responsible for Actuarial Risk & Quants services across the Rest of Africa, as well as a Director at SkXProtiviti responsible for Actuarial & Insurance Services In Africa. He spent 7 years at Alexander Forbes where he served as Managing Director of the Rest of Africa Financial Services operations.
Tinashe is currently a member of International Actuarial Association’s ESG Risk Governance Working Group and is formerly a member of the Finance and Investment Subcommittee of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. He has previously served on the FSB SAM Steering Committee, the Pillar 2 Steering Committee and the SAM Stress and Scenario Testing task group. He is formerly a member of the ASSA Alternative Investment Sub-Committee.
